AI & Executive Presence
AI-Enhanced LinkedIn Executive Presence
Your LinkedIn profile is read before your first meeting. Used well, AI helps you sound more like yourself — not less.
Your LinkedIn profile is read before your first meeting: by a board member, a candidate you are recruiting, a prospective client. Used well, AI helps you sound more like yourself, not less.
Start with the reader, not the tool
Decide who you most want to reach and what you want them to conclude. An executive profile written for investors reads differently from one written to attract senior talent. Without that decision, AI will give you fluent, generic text.
Lead with judgement, not job titles
Titles describe where you sat. Presence comes from showing how you think. Your headline and About section should make one clear claim about the problems you solve and the kind of leader you are, in plain language.
Use AI as an editor, not an author
Write a rough version in your own words, including the phrases you actually use with your team. Then ask AI to tighten it, remove jargon, and flag anything vague or unsupported. Keep the sentences that sound like you and delete anything you would be embarrassed to say out loud.
Make claims you can stand behind
Never publish numbers, awards or outcomes you cannot substantiate. Specific and modest beats impressive and unverifiable, especially with the audience you are trying to reach.
Post at a rhythm you can sustain
Two thoughtful posts a month, consistently, build more credibility than a burst of daily content that stops. Write about decisions you have made, things you changed your mind about, and what you are watching in your market.
Check how it lands
Ask three people you trust to read your profile cold and tell you what they think you do. If their answer surprises you, the profile is doing the wrong job.
